can you find out from the blood draws?
Getting an annual low cost blood screening test gives
the participant a tool to monitor or evaluate
cholesterol levels, glucose - diabetes, thyroid, iron,
potassium, calcium, white count, red count. Also, men
can screen for risk levels for Prostate cancer and
others can screen the level of inflammation in the
arteries to the heart. The participant receives two
pages of their results – one for them to keep and the
other for their physician.
Why
is it important to know these results?
Finding a health problem before it causes serious
expense or has tragic results, can really be as simple
as getting an annual blood-screening test or
participating in a health assessment. By ordering any
combination of the tests offered – it can be anywhere
from $300-$500 cost savings compared to a Dr. visit or
directly through the lab.

Who
should get the draws?
All ages – we see 10 years old to 110 years old! A high
or low result should be discussed with your physician as
soon as possible.
If a
participant needs results for an appointment or they get
lost how can these be obtained?
If you need them faxed we will need a
Release Form
filled out and faxed to us at 307-268-8332. If you need
them mailed to yourself again please call our Casper
office at 800-979-3711 and request results to be mailed.
What is the soonest after someone is drawn that
results can be made available?
Between 3-5 working days depending on the lab’s
quantity.
If I am out of town during a blood draw week, when
are other community blood draw dates?
Check our website or call WHF Casper office at
800-979-3711.
Can I get my blood drawn at the state blood draws?
Yes, public is welcome to all State draws as well as for
State employees can attend the community draws.
Does WHF bill Medicare?
No, due to the fact that we are a non-profit wellness
screening provider Medicare, a federal program, will not
allow us to directly bill them.
Does WHF bill Insurance companies?
Some of them, but mostly we provide the customer with a
receipt to process the claim themselves with their
insurance company. We recommend that you make a copy of
the front and back of the receipt and mail in the copy
keep your original for your records.
What is the difference between Medicaid or Equality
Care, Title 19, State Breast and Cervical program, and
Medicare?
Medicaid or Equality Care is a state funded program that
WHF is contracted with as an approved provider. Medicare
is a federal program.
If I lost my receipt can I get another one?
Yes, call WHF Casper office 800-979-3711 and we can mail
you another one.
I need a copy of my results before the Health Fair
date, how do I get them?
Call our WHF Casper office 800-979-3711 if the results
are in we can get them to you.
If I have specific questions about my results what
should I do?
Contact your doctor. If you don’t have one, contact your
local hospital for a list of doctors in your area.
Will I be contacted right away if my results need
immediate attention?
Yes, a critical value on a result requires the lab to
contact you ASAP.
What other health fairs are in my area?
Check website or call WHF.
Does Medicare cover the cost of the
blood screening?
No, Medicare covers medically necessary diagnostic lab
services that are ordered by your treating doctor when
they are provided by a Clinical Laboratory Improvement
Amendments (CLIA) certified laboratory that participates
in Medicare. Diagnostic lab services are done to help
your doctor diagnose or rule out a suspected illness or
condition. Medicare does not cover most routine
screening tests, like checking your cholesterol.
Are there any medical financial assistance programs
available?
Yes, contact your local DFS to see if you are eligible.

How many hours do I fast for blood screening and for
what tests is fasting necessary?
The chemistry panel and CRP tests require fasting for
twelve (12) hours.
